1. Overview

Billing Goat is a documentation guidance tool designed for Alberta dermatology clinics. By accessing or using Billing Goat, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the service.

2. Nature of the Service

Billing Goat provides documentation guidance only. The service generates suggested documentation and billing code references to assist healthcare professionals with their workflow. Billing Goat does not provide medical, legal, or financial advice.

3. User Responsibility

All billing decisions remain the sole responsibility of the user. You are responsible for reviewing, verifying, and approving all documentation and billing codes before submission. Billing Goat's suggestions should be treated as a starting point, not a final determination.

4. Limitation of Liability

Billing Goat assumes no liability for billing outcomes, claim denials, audit results, or any financial consequences arising from the use of the service. The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

5. Patient Information & User Responsibility

It is the user's sole responsibility to ensure that no identifying patient information is entered into the Billing Goat Note Generator or Audit Simulator. This includes patient names, health identification numbers, dates of birth, addresses, contact details, and any other data — direct or contextual — that could be used to identify an individual patient.

While Billing Goat applies automated stripping of clear identifiers before any processing, this is a safety net only and is not a substitute for the user's obligation to de-identify clinical content. History, medical profile fields, and free-text narrative may still contain potentially identifiable information that the user is responsible for removing prior to submission.

The user is solely responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable privacy legislation, including the Alberta Health Information Act (HIA) and Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

6. Service Variants

Billing Goat offers multiple service variants. The Note Generator and Audit Simulator (v1) integrate with a third-party AI provider to perform note rewriting and audit simulation as described in our Privacy Policy. The structured charting tools (v2) are deterministic, run client-side, do not transmit clinical content to any third-party AI provider, and have no clinical-content data retention. Users should select the variant appropriate to their workflow and risk tolerance.

7. Pricing

Billing Goat is currently offered at introductory pricing. Pricing is subject to change with reasonable notice. Continued use of the service after a pricing change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing terms.

8. Modifications to Terms

Billing Goat reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the service following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

9. Account Termination

Billing Goat may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may cancel your account at any time through the billing portal.
